I can't believe it's already Wednesday. Where has the time gone?? Well I have a random-and-needs-some-explanation post for you today haha. Last week I read an article on BuzzFeed about a goldfish named George. This fish (who lives in Australia) had to have an operation to remove a tumor that was life threatening. Needless to say the surgery was a success and George is expected to live a very long life :) After reading the article, I just couldn't get fish off my mind. So, I painted one (*disclaimer)...
Colors Used: China Glaze - Capacity To See Beyond, Shimmer Polish - Trisha, Acrylic Paints
First off... I friggin' love this blue! It's from China Glaze's LE The Give Collection and it's a beauty. I started with it and Shimmer Polish's Trisha as my base colors, 2 coats for both. I forgot how magical Shimmer's are. Trisha applied so easily!
Then with a detail brush, I painted George using acrylic paints (orange, gold and black). I was pretty much just winging it and hoping for the best lol. Once my fishy dried, I top coated.
When life gets you down, do you wanna know what you've gotta do?
Be like George and just keep swimming, just keep swimming, just keep swimming!
I hope you enjoyed this mani. I had considered adding more details (coral, kelp, etc.), but I really wanted the pretty polishes to shine thru :) As a side note... how do we all feel about the new watermark? I am "testing the waters" you could say haha. Feedback would be greatly appreciated *hugs*.
Until next time!

This is cute!
ReplyDeleteAwww, I saw that article. This is amazing! :)
ReplyDeleteNot only is this cute, I love the inspiration! Great job! I really like the font and style of your new watermark but in general I'm not a fan of black watermarks, that's just personal preference, though!
ReplyDeleteLol your inspiration is lovely, and so is your mani! So cute and fun <3
ReplyDelete[Your watermark is very nice, fitting so well around your nail!]
Love that goldfish! It's so perfect, I thought it was a decal! And that glitter polish is gorgeous :)
ReplyDeleteThat story was so cute! I'm glad that George is going to be alright! Your manicure looks awesome as well!
ReplyDeleteomg this is adorable!
ReplyDeleteSO flipping cute! Love it.
ReplyDeleteThat little fish is amazing! Doesn't look like you winged it at all, it looks like you knew exactly what you were doing. Great Job! I like the new watermark font and placement. It's just very dark, I also used to do a black watermark but have changed it to a charcoal grey. It's still visible, but not so jarring against the manicure. Maybe play around with the opacity of the black or change to a grey to see how you like it?
ReplyDeleteThis is a super cute mani! LOVE the fishy!
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful! And I TOTALLY read that article! Also, I now need Shimmer Trisha...
ReplyDeleteI need to check that article out so I can see George in person ( not really IN PERSON but you know what I mean! ) Oh, such a cute story and I'm so happy it ended on a positive note! The little fishy is darling!! I love how it turned out and I agree, it's perfect on it's own! I also love the new watermark too!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm in LOVE with this!!
