Playing with Jellies

Hello lovelies!

Today I have a mani that started out as a fail but ended up being a winner!

Colors Used: L'Oreal - Jolly Lolly, Mango Mamma, Bananarama Love, Creme de Mint, Miss Pixie. Lilac Coolers, Julep - Hermione

I received the entire L'Oreal jellies collection for my birthday last month and I was so excited!  I decided I wanted to do a rainbow-y watercolor design with them.  Once I had it on tho, I didn't really like how some of the colors layered over each other.  The green and orange looked particularly like pond scum lol...

I then said to myself, "Hey!  Remember when crackle was cool??".  So I pulled out a white crackle (Julep's Hermione) and went to town!  And I lurvs it!!

Winning!

I hope you all have a very good Good Friday!

Until next time!

Inspired by the Evil Queen

Hiya, lovies!

I have a quick post for you today.  My inspiration was The Evil Queen (who's name is actually Queen Grimhilde) from Disney's Snow White...

Mentality Tempest, OPI Stay the Night, Disney, Snow White, Evil Queen, Queen Grimhilde, skull, crackle, inspired, nailas, nail art, nail design, mani
Colors Used: Rimmel - Black Satin, OPI - It Color and Stay the Night, Mentality - Tempest, Daisy Nail Lacquer - White Diamond, Maybeline - Carbon Frost

I wanted to go for something a little more dark/sinister rather than cartoonish...

I free-handed the crown and apple and then used stamping plate SH02 for the skull and cross bones.

I wish the detail of the apple popped more but c'est la vie!

It's almost the weekend!!  Anyone else excited?  :P

Until next time!

Under Lock & Key

Hello, dolls!

I hope you all had a very happy weekend :)  I would like to say a big WELCOME to my new followers!  You ladies are the reason why I have continued blogging.  Thank you all so much for your recent comments.  it really is encouraging and it's helping me to tweak the things I'm doing as a blogger.  You all are amazing!!

Well, it's been gloomy here in SoCal the last few days (no April showers tho).  The weather put me in a bit of a somber mood over the weekend so, I busted out one of my favorite polish to cheer myself up...

Zoya, Blaze, Avon, Mosaic Effect, Mosaic Mica, crackle, shimmer, holo, lock, key, heart, red, silver, nails, nail art, nail design, mani
Colors Used: Zoya - Blaze, Avon - Mosaic Mica

Fitting for a gloomy day, but I LOVE the way it came out!

I started with 2 coats of Blaze.  Cannot get enough of this polish!  Then I applied the "Mosaic Effect" polish.  It doesn't really come across in the pics, but it's very very shimmery and pretty.  Lastly I applied my nail art stickers that I picked up from H&M, truly the best I've ever used to date.  I topped them off with my new fave Nutra Nail Speed Dry Top Coat and viola!

"Look at the pretties!"

My work/rehearsal week is looking a little bit crazy.  I am now partially running the children's choirs at my job along with everything else I've got going on.  I don't know why I do these things to myself lol.  April TPC starts up tomorrow and I've got a couple of other surpirses coming along the way *sigh*.  Busy, busy, busy!  I hope you will bear with me ;)

Until next time!

Getting Into The Spirit :)

Good morning, all :)

After yesterday's post, I decided to get back into the swing of things with a simple Halloween themed mani.  I think it's a good start...

Colors Used: Wet n Wild - Straight A Jesse, Maybelline Color Show Shredded - Carbon Frost, China Glaze - Fairy Dust

This is the first crackle polish that I've used that I've really been able to get big cracks from... I like it!  in general, I'm not a big fan of crackle polishes.  They're a little to edgy/grungyfor my taste.  I put the Fairy Dust on as an after thought to jazz the mani up a bit.  I think it turned out pretty decently :)

Now, this is post #99.  Which means the next post will have... a GIVEAWAY!!  Yayayayayayayyy!!!  I can't wait to share it with you :D

Until next time!

What's Crackalackin'??

Jello ladies and germs!  It's been faaaar too long since I've blogged :(  Let me just say wedding planning is a lot less fun than it sounds lol.  If you can afford a wedding planner... get one!  I am fortunate enough to have a lot of AMAZING women in my life who offering me they're help, so I really have no room to complain.  It's just very time consuming *sigh*

Anyway on to my post!  For today I have a simple mani and nail haul to share :)

I've gone a little polish crazy recently.  I'm still hunting for the Stick It To 'Em Slater from Wet n Wilds Saved by the Bell colletion, and while out on these hunts... I found other polishes to buy lol.  First tho I'm going to share the crackle polishes I reciedn as a gift from my soon-to-be-mother-in-law (featured in today's mani) :D

Avon Mosaic Effects Glimmering Gold, Coral, nail art, nail design, mani
Colors Used; Love & Beauty - Coral/Gold, Avon Mosaic Effects - Gold Glimmer

She'd told me that a friend of hers was selling Avon and so she decided to order me a couple.  I love her to death!  She's too good to me :)

Here are a couple more pics...

I haven't really been a fan of crackle polishes.  The never seem to crackle enough for me and just end up look like a sloppy mess!  This one actually turned out really well, I think I may give crackles another chance :)

Onto the rest of my haul!
