Moon & Stars

Hello lovelies!

I decided to continue on with my night time manis because I had so much fun creating the last one :)  I went with something a little simpler this go around and chose to do the moon with some stars...

 Colors Used: KBShimmer - Eclipse, China Glaze - Fairy Dust, White Acrylic Paint, 

Mentality - Matte Top Coat

I only just now realized how amusing it is that I used "Eclipse" in my moon mani haha.  Well, it's an awesome black polish.  I used 2 coats as my base along with 1 coat of Fairy Dust...

I sponged on a white circle for my moon and then took the corner of my sponge to black out a curve (aka the silhouette of the earth).  I then went in with a detail brush and painted my star bursts.  Lastly, with a dotting tool I speckled some stars.  It all got topped with Mentality's matte top coat :)

I love a crescent moon.

Anybody else ready for the weekend?  I feel like it can't come soon enough!  Hahaha...

Neon Galaxy Nails

Hey dolls,

A quick post of the neon galaxy mani I did last night and just absolutely love!

 I'll edit this and put up the colors used when I get home from my dinner date with the hubby.  I just couldnt wait to share haha :)

 A little sponging, a little white glitter, some stars all topped with CG Fairy Dust *sigh*...

Eeep!!

What's A Meow Meow??

Hello, lovelies!

I was going to write a post this morning before I left for work, but then... well I decided to sleep a little longer lol.  So late evening post it is!  I went to see Thor 2 on Saturday with my hubby and 2 good friends of ours.  I have loved Thor since i was a child (one of the many nerdy things my father encouraged when I was growing up lol).  Mr. Hemsworth is great eye candy but Thor... he's just an awesome hero!  Naturally, I did my nails for the occasion ;)

 Colors Used: Rimmel - Black Satin, Savina - Sparkling Water, Love & Beauty - Purple, Orly - Dazzle, Sinful Colors - Nrivana, Sinful Nail Art - Bad Chick (white) and Time Off (black), 

China Glaze - Fairy Dust

Gaaaahhh!!  I love this one!!!  I was so very sad when I had to take it off (no nail art allowed in church choir... booooo!).  I've been wanting to do lightning nails for a while and figured now was the best time.  I searched the interwebs for a good tutorial, but they all looked much more time involved then I thought necessary.  So, I just kind of winged it!

I started with a black base and sponged on a blue holo (Sparkling Waters) and creme purple. I then stippled my lightning with a striper.  Lastly I freehanded the Mulnier (meow meow as Kat Dennings likes to call it) and outlined it in black to give it some definition. As an afterthought I added Fairy Dust to give is some extra sparkle and then topped with Color Club Clear.

I'm quite proud of this one :)

I can't believe the week is almost half over!  It just started!!  Time really does fly, huh?

May TPC - Day 3

Hellooooo!

I hope you don't mind that I took a one-day-hiatus from blogging.  My hubby and I hardly ever get a day off together, so we took full advantage of it.  Woke up and had coffee with our first sleepover guest, we watched some Doctor Who, went over and visited his parents, then came back home and barbecued with my parents.  It was a fantastic day :D  Speaking of Doctor Who...

 Colors Used: Elf - Sea Scape, OPI - Skull & Glossbones, Julep - Taylor and January, Sally Hansen - White On

Eeeeeeeee!!  I am over-the-moon with how this turned out :D  We've been binge watching the Doctor for a couple of months now (half-way through season 5), so I thought what better use for the color blue than the TARDIS?

 

 I was a little skeptical about using the red and grey as nebula' but they turned out surprisingly apropos.  I'm loving these nerdy nails *sigh*. 

I'm excited to share Day 4's mani with you.  While it's not as intricate, it is equally as nerdy lol.  Be sure to check out the other lovely manicures below :)
