Loverly & Fairly Charming

*Disclosure

Hello dolls!

Today I have teamed up with Loverly to design a cute wedding nail art look!  When searching through their collection of gowns, I came across one that made me reminisce on my own wedding day.  Knee-length, ivory and sweet.  I didn't want any frills on my day, just the simple joy of sharing our vows in front of our loved ones.  My one regret is that my nails were kind of blah on my wedding day.  i was too stressed and too busy to do anything cute *tear*.  So when I was approach by Loverly to do this collab, I thought, "Yay!  I get a second chance!!"...

Colors Used: Rica - Robin's Egg Blue, Sally Hansen - White On, Acrylic Paint

I decided to take the "something blue" approach using a Tiffany's blue color on my tips.  I then took a smaill dotting tool and applied white polka dots...

With a detail brush and acrylic paints, I painted my bow.  Sweet and simple :)

I really enjoyed working on this project and taking a stroll down memory lane...

I'm curious to know what you lovely ladies had on your nails for your big day?   Or what you plan on rockin' when you become a bride??

From what I can see, Loverly seems like an excellent reference for wedding planning and inspiration.  I highly recommend checking it out :)

Until next time!

Trending Now

Hello, dolls!

I hope you all had safe and happy weekends :D  Mine was quite long but had moments of pure awesomeness lol.

Well, I've decided that my mani's this week (aside from the final installments in the Tri Polish Challenge) are going to be set around one color... mint!  It is an extremely popular color in fashion and style right now.  I feel like everyone has a different idea of what the shade of mint actually is.  I'm just going to be showing the options :)

Colors Used: China glaze - For Audrey, Sally Hansen - Blaze

I've heard a lot of people refer to For Audrey as a "mint polish".  While I don't necessarily agree, it is a fantastic polish to have in ones collection.  Personally, I would classify this beauty as more of a pale turquoise...

Blaze is 2 coats of jelly-coral goodness.  Another great polish to have.  After trying to use chevron guides (and failing miserably), I elected to free-hand the design.  The lines aren't as clean as I would prefer but I do like the overall look of the mani :)

I'm excited about the manis I have to share with you this week!  The blog will be looking pretty diverse ;)

Until next time!

Hey, Jasmine... Be Jealous ;)

Good morning lovelies!

It's Friday and payday (well at least for me it is) and I love that combination :D  I'm looking forawrd to a weekend of being domestic, i.e cleaning the apartment, grocery shopping, buying little odds and ends to decorate for fall... I'm excited!

Anywhosie... for today's post I want to share a mani that I did weeks ago.  I completely forgot about it, which is a shame because I'm kind of in love with it.  I was inspired by Princess Jasmine.  We'd been watching Aladdin a lot at work recently so it was a natural progression.  Just a forewarning, this post is a little pic heavy...

Colors Used: Julep - Gwyneth, Felicity and Robin

I started with 2 coats of Gwyneth, a "sheerest pink clear" polish according to Julep.

I then swiped on 2 coats of Felicity, by far my favorite gold polish in my collection.  If I wasn't already married, I'd marry it!  <3

Then I added Robin on top (also 2 coats).  Again, it's such a beautiful color.  I just love it...

I believe I topped it with Out The Door quick dry top coat, but I'm not positive :\
Julep, Robin, Felicity, Gwyneth, Princess Jasmine, frenchie, french tip, nail art, nail design, mani

Simple but oh so pretty :)  If you haven't tried Julep's polishes/Maven program, I highly recommend it.  They are an awesome company and the product is fabulous.  It's the best 20 bucks I spend every month!  :D

Before I forget, I added a new page to my blog.  It's just an inventory of my polish collection.  I put it together so that I stop buying duplicates of polishes that I already own and so that I can keep a count.  I don't expect you all to be terribly interested lol.  Just a heads up in case you were curious :)

Well that's all for now...

Until next time!

Chevron/Fishtail Mani, First Attempt!

Hello hello hello!  Happy Tuesday everybody :)

In my last post I talked about this mani that I saw from Sarah at Chalkboard Nails.  I had tried this swooping-v technique on a few previous mani's and when I saw that she layered it with different colors I was even more thrilled!  (Again I will say that Sarah's blog is well worth checking out if you haven't already).

So I took this idea of layering the swooped-v's and combined it with some colors that I saw on this maxi dress at Target (side note: I tried the dress on and the bodice doesn't fit my bosoms, otherwise it would have come home with me instantly!)...

Julep Robin, purple, peach, coral, chevron, fishtail, nail art, nail design, mani

Colors Used: E.L.F. - Coral Dream, Julep - Robin, Love & Beauty - Purple

I love love love this combination of colors and I want to wear this mani all the time!  I did 2 coats of the Coral Dream (which I really think should be named Peach Dream because it barely passes as a coral) and then 1 coat of Robin and Purple.  I topped it off with Julep's Fast Dry Topcoat and I was good to go.  I did this mani on Saturday, so I sadly had to remove it for church on Sunday (hence why Sunday's nails were a chevron/fishtail frenchie... it all come full circle lol).  I was a little bummed but I definitely plan on doing this again in the near future.  If you're interested in achieving this look it really is fairly easy.  Sarah has a video tutorial that shows you step by step how to do it and she adds some great tips as well :)

One last pic...

So what do you think?  Will you try this out?

Until next time!

For Audrey with some RAWR! ;)

Hello, hello!  How are we all faring this loverly day?  I'm feeling pretty ok and I'm really excited for today's mani :D  Here we go!

For Audrey, Tiffany, blue, zebra print, tiger print, accent nail, nail art, mani
Colors Used: China Glaze - For Audrey, JLB Cosmetics - 06, Rimmel - Black Satin

I new that I wanted to use For Audrey with a pink-ish accent nail (I'm really trying to accept pink into my life but it's soooooo hard!! lol).  The mauve-y color is one I found in a boxed set at Ross and I will probably show that in a haul tomorrow after church (I'm just slacking with the picture taking :\)

I added the zebra stripes as an after thought and I love the way it turned out!  I may actually keep this on for more than one day lol...

For Audrey is a color that China Glaze created to match Tiffany's signature brand color (so I've heard).  I was skeptical (even after I had it on my nails) so I pulled out and old Tiffany's box that I've had for years.  I don't even remember what came in this box originally, it now holds some Ivory (*sniff* poor heffalump) dominoes that I inherited from my grandfather...

I was wrong, it's pretty much perfect, spot-on, wonderfulness!

So there it is and I hope you enjoyed it as much as I do :D

Until next time!

An Ombre Polka Dot Mani(s?)...

Good morning to you dearies :)  I'm really excited to show off today's mani so let's get to it!

I was perusing through my blog roll and saw an ombre polka dot mani from Lindsey at Neverland Nail Blog (I really love the work that she does, take a peek!) and I went kookoo kachoo over them!  So I decided that I had to attempt this mani for myself...

And these are the pretties I used...

Colors Used: Love & Beauty - Teal, China Glaze - Four Leaf Clover, China Glaze - For Audrey, Sally Hansen - Mint Sorbet, Love & Beauty - Mint

I love the way these turned out!  I wore them Sunday night, with a Teal dress, and went off to play pool / billiards with some friends.  And then last night I got a little crazy lol.  I decided that rainbow ombre polka dot nails would be genius!  I now think I may have gone overboard hahahaha...

In total there are 26 polishes used in this mani and I am refusing to list them all lol (if you really REALLY need to know, email me :P).  It's a lot of color but it's something different and fun :)

That's it for today, I hope your Tuesday is a great one :D

Until next time!
