Maybelline Bleached Neons Striping

Hello dearies!

How are we all fairing?  Today I have a quick post for you featuring some colors from the new and popular Maybelline Bleached Neons collection...

 Daisy Nail Lacquer - Diamond White, Maybelline - Day Glow Teal (blue), Coral Reef (orange-pink), Lime Accent (green) & Citrus Collide (pale yellow)

The Bleached Neons are pretty much exactly what they sound like.  Creme, bright polishes that seem a little faded in tone.  I did my striping over white because I find it easier to correct any mistakes in my lines that way. But unlike most neon polishes, these cremes don't need a white base.  the color pops on it's own :)

I tried making my stripes different widths just for the fun of it but I don't think it translated well.  I really love the colors in this collection, so overall I'm pleased with this look haha.

I have seen this collection being sold online for around $60 which is just insane.  I drove around to a few different drugstores searching for mine and got the full collection for less than $20 (I found them all at a Rite-Aid).  If you are desperately wanting these polishes I really recommend going on the hunt.  I like them a lot, but they are not worth $60 lol.

Some Floral Inspiration!

Hello dolls!

Today's post is inspired by a blogger who fueled my obsession with nail art, Chalkboard Nails!  I have admired Sarah's work for a long, long time and I've had her "Hawaiian Floral" nail art pinned to my inspiration board for over a year.  I finally got the perfect polishes (in my opinion) to execute the look...

 Colors Used: Polish My Life - Birthday Suit, Drip Drop Nail Paint - Prototype #211, L'Oreal - Jolly Lolly

Original credit for this idea and design goes to Mr. Candiipants who inspired Sarah and thus inspired me :)  I really love the way this turned out!  

       I used a couple of awesome indie polishes in this mani.  The base is an ivory creme from            Polish My Life and it's amazing; 2 even coats of perfection.  The mustard jelly is actually a prototype from Drip Drop Nail Paint that I received when I purchased a grab bag on her site.  I call it Tampico because that's how it looks in the bottle haha.

 After applying my ivory base, I went thru with my jellies and blotted out some petals using the brush from the bottle.  I then took stripers in 2 different shades of green and brushed on some leaves.  Lastly I went back with my ivory polish and a small dotting tool to apply some dots to the center of my flowers.  I top coated and that's it!  It really is much easier than it looks, I promise ;)

Definitely a new favorite!

I'm trying to slowly make the transition from Spring to Summer with my manis.  The last couple of posts were pretty... bright lol.  I'm so close to just doing a neon overhaul!  Maybe it's time for me to resurrect "Neon Week"?

Step Into Summer - Neon

Hello, lovelies!

Another quick post today :)  I have decided to participate in the Hobby Polish Bloggers Challenge for the months of June and July.  It's a really relaxed challenge with 8 themes to be posted at ones leisure... my kind of challenge lol.  Today I'm going with "Neon"...

 Colors Used: China Glaze - Celtic Sun, Love & Beauty - Purple, Orly - Mayhem Mentality

Downside... my light tent REALLY subdued the crazy brightness of this polish :(  But I still really loved the mani so I had to share haha.

Celtic Sun, in person, is blinding-highlighter-yellow.  It's amazing!  I layered 2 coats over a white base.  I then popped over to my inspiration board on Pinterest and re-discovered a great tutorial for my accent design.

"Why you not brighter??!!!"
