What Do You Do With A School Bus Yellow?

Hello hello!

I believe this is 3 days in a row that I have posted?  Wow! I haven't done that since this past summer lol.

Today's post is centered around Julep's Parker.  It is described by Julep as a "Golden tangerine creme".  I describe it as a school-bus yellow.

Julep Parker, yellow, orange, tangerine, school bus yellow, nail art, nail design, mani
Colors Used: Julep - Parker, Rimmel - Black Satin

This is a design that I saw on a blog a couple of months ago.  If memory serves me right Samersaurus at The Nailasarus did this mani using gold studs.  Alas, I do not have studs but I loved the look.  So I did mine using my smallest dotting tool.

I hardly ever do bottle shots anymore so I thought I'd throw a couple in haha :)

Loves it!

Until next time!

My First Franken!!

Hey there, lovelies!

I hope you all are having a fabulous day :)  I'm going out on a limb here to share my first Franken with you.  I would like to preface by saying... I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing when it comes to creating my own nail polish!  Lol I just wanted a pretty/feminine polish that I could wear in concert, to church, etc.

I combined O.P.I.'s You Callin' Me A Lyre with Love & Beauty's Baby Pink and Gold Glitter...

It's a VERY sheer polish, this is 3 coats.  I had to manipulate the glitter a bit as well.

I then went and added white tiips to them for a fun frenchie look :)

It's A New Dawn, It's A New Year!

Happy new year to you all!!

New Year 2013, champagne, hibiscus, raspberry

I hope everyone had safe a joy-filled celebrations last night.  I have been waiting all week for my glass of champagne and New Year's kiss, so I'm one happy lady :)

My mani for New Year's Eve was kind of a last-minute/rushed job.  I didn't really know what I wanted to do and I had a creative block.  So I went with my stand-by mantra, "Keep it simple, stupid!"...

Rimmel Black Satin, Essie Beyond Cozy, glitter accent nail, black nails, nail art, nail design, mani
Colors Used: Rimmel - Black Satin, Essie - Beyond Cozy

I applied 2 coats of each color and then applied the stripe with my striping brush.  Like I said... really simple haha :)

So there you have it!  I've decided that my resolution will be to continue being happy.  2012 was a very loving and joy-filled year for me, I'm just going to keep it up and spread the love :)

I'm considering taking up another nail challenge to kick off the New Year but I'm not sure if I can make that kind of a commitment.... we shall see lol.

Until next time!

12 Mani's of Christmas #12... Charlie Brown Christmas Tree!

Happy Christmas!!

I hope you and yours are having a very merry Christmas :)  I'm am going to put this post up quickly so that I can hop into bed, get some sleep, and race over to my in-laws in the morning (altho I am very excited about this mani)!

As far as the colors used... there were a lot lol.  If you really MUST know, leave a comment and I'll do my best to list them all :)

There's something so charming about Charlie Brown's draw to this pathetic tree... I love it!

The light blue polish wasn't coming thru really well in my normal camera setting, so I changed the filter to vivid in order to get a better contrast.

I told my husband that next year I want to have a Charlie Brown tree at Christmas.  He's just as quirky as I am (if not more so hahaha) so he happily agreed :D  I can't wait!

Well there you have it!  Please excuse my horrible cuticles... yikes!!

Until next time!

12 Mani's of Christmas #11... Little Drummer Boy

 Happy Christmas Eve!!

It's almost Christmas, how exciting :D  Today's mani is inspired by my favorite Christmas song from childhood. "Come they told me, pa rum pa pum pum"...

Colors Used: Julep - Parker, OPI - Goldeneye, Sinful Colors - Nirvana

I had a bit of a difficult time getting decent shots of this mani.  I used 2 different settings on my camera, vivid and live (L-R)

While I very much liked the vivid setting, Goldeneye got "lost in translation".  I love the bronze tint to my skin tho hahaha ;)

Christmas, Little Drummer Boy, Julep Parker, music, nail art, nail design, mani

Only one more mani to go and I'm pretty excited about it!  Have a lovely day everyone :)

Until next time!
