Playing with Turquoise

Hello, dearies!

A quick post today because I've got so so much going on in life... bleh!  I did this mani a while back and had it archived for awhile...

 Colors Used: China Glazed - Turned Up Turquoised, Rimmel - Black Satin, Sephora - 18k Gold Top Coat

 

This is 2 coats of the Turquoise, lightly sponged Black Satin and 2 coats of the gold topcoat.  Easy-peasy lemon squeezy!

Yay pretty!

An Orly Ruffian

Good day, dear hearts!

I have yet another bright/neon polish to share with you today (Shocking... I know!).  I was at Sally's almost a month ago looking for a good silver foil polish and stumbled across neon goodness...

 Colors Used:  Orly - Dazzle (silver) and Mayhem Mentality (neon orange)

Having a foil polish really helped with my ruffian design this go around.  It was easier to smoth out the edges with this silver polish than it was with my Sally Hansen Golden-I.  Photographing this mani, however, was a nightmare!  The above photo was taken in my usual lighting... at my desk, with a desk lamp, using flash.

This photo with the greenish tinge was take in my bathroom.  Fluorescent lighting, no flash.

This last photo I feel is closest to the true color of the polish and I took it in my car.  Don't worry, I wasn't driving!  The hubby was lol.

All in all this mani was 1 coat of dazzle and 2 coats of Mayhem Mentality.  Two new faves in my ever growing collection :D

Just an fyi... I know I had said that the TPC for May would be starting this week.  I was very off lol.  It starts up next Tuesday.  it will give me a chance to do the final mani for the Hobby Polish Blogger challenge... Re-create Your Favorite :)

Man Mani

Hello, lovies!

Today I have a fantastic mani to show you!  It's super easy to achieve and the best part... no drying time required :D

 Colors Used: Sweat, Dirt, Grime and Car Engine Oil

Like I said, it's really easy to achieve...

1.  Pick at your cuticles/finger flesh all day long.  Even if you have a loved one that constantly whacks you for doing it.  Be persistent!

2. Go out to your car, pop the hood and take the engine apart.   It's ok if you forget what goes where, that will just make the mani all the more manly :D

3. Spend the next few hours trying to put the car back together.  Let's not forget that you have places to be, am I right?

It will be a work in progress, but if this is a look you want to achieve then just follow steps 1,2,3!

Clearly this is all a farce lol.  I was shocked when my husband showed me his nails and immediately wanted to work my magic!  He said jokingly that it would make a great blog post and I jumped at the idea :)  I love that he's such a good sport.  I love everything about him.  Well... not his cuticles... I hate his cuticles...

I hope that no one is scarred for life and if you have nightmares... my bad!  Hahaha.

Lush Lacquer Clowning Around

Hiya pretties!

Today's post features my first indie polish purchase *squeal*!!  I saw this polish swatched on Chalkboard Nails and I knew I had to have it...

 Colors Used: Bongo - Mint Chip Madness, Lush Lacquer - Clowning Around

Aaahhhh I love it so much!

I started with 3 coats of Bongo's Mint Chip Madness.  This brand of polish is new to me.  I just bought this bottle at Kmart (literally... I got it like an hour ago lol).  It's a very light mint with a pretty golden-rainbow shimmer that I couln't pick up on camera *tear*.  I then applied 1 coat of Clowning Around, a super fantastic neon glitter :D

I don't want to take this polish off, it's just so pretty...

This bottle of polish was $9.00 USD.  I paid $3.25 for shipping, so $12.25 total and I don't regret it haha.  You can find Clowning Around and other awesome polishes at Lush Lacquer's Esty store.

What do you think about this polish?  Also, do any of you own Bongo polishes?  I found this one to be super streaky, but that's not really uncommon with mint polishes.  I have a pinkish-red (Perfectly Polished) that I bought as well to play with :)

Inspired by the Beach

Hello lovies!

I've been a little bit busy this week and have not been able to devote a lot of time to blogging.  I promise to get to  all of your comments soon.  I truly do appreciate all of the feedback I've recieved :)

Today I have my third mani in the Hobby Polish Bloggers challenge for May...

 Colors Used: Sally Hansen - White On and Blue-Away, Ulta - Ink Blot Blue, Love & Beauty - Beige

I have to admit that I dislike the beach... a lot.  Like a lot a lot.  It doesn't make a whole lot of sense considering I was born at a hospital that's right on the beach and I've lived within 10-15 mins of the beach my entire life.  But yea.  I really dislike it lol.  I hate the smells, I hate the sand. I hate the traffic... no, thank you!

 

As far as this mani goes, I thoroughly enjoyed sponging on the waves :)  I wish I could have gotten better pics of the details.  I think this is my fave out of the May challenge so far...

 Yay waves!
